People struggling with memory-related diseases are some of the most vulnerable categories of people in case of a disaster. Without adequate support, they would not be able to cope with a crisis, which is why we must direct our focus to improving their resilience and finding ways to help them in case of emergencies.
We sat down with Akseli Tuuri from Pirkanmaa, a branch of the The Alzheimer Society of Finland, and discussed about the potential ways to improve crisis response when it comes to people affected by memory-related diseases, what Pirkanmaa is doing to support these groups, and the value that a project like ours brings to helping the vulnerable.
